The Romatic ponytail

ahh... the smell of romance.

this look is stunning, although this girl is all made up, it can be a very casual look as well.

the best type of hair for this look is wavy--curly.

to begin, you may want to lightly straighten your roots, to make it easier to manage, make sure you use a heat protection product to stop your hair getting the "burnt out" look.

tie a ponytail at the crown of your head. make sure you leave out a small amount of hair around the face to create the rest of the look.

get a section of the hair (which will NOT be included in the bangs) and sweep neatly across the forehead, fasten with hair pins and clips, in an unrecognisable position, such as behind the ears or in a section where it is covered by the ponytail.

now for the bangs. the LONG bangs are the essence of this look, they create the Juliette-Esq vibe.
ensure they are LONG, FULL bangs as opposed to the regular wispy, messy bangs.
to create this look, you should enhance the curls in the bangs with a straightener, by simply curling 180-360 degrees on small sections to create rounded curl.

spray entire style with hairspray, if required, enhance curls in ponytail in a similar fashion to how we enhanced the bangs.

happy styling (:

The unique messy updo

I cant really put a label on this hairstyle... what is it? all i know is it is very simple and unique, and screams SASSY!

this is best suited to layered, thin hair, usually of straight or wavy orientation, as curls may be difficult, but you can straighten your curls and give this look a try.

TO CREATE THIS LOOK:
your hair should be smooth and knot free. try using : VITA 5 CPR PHASE 1.
this cream will infuse your hair with moisture, and is a MUST HAVE, i use it after every shower!

so, once your hair is smooth. split your hair into 2 parts, separate the top layer from the rest of your hair. the top layer should be removed from about 2cm from the top of your ears. tie this layer over your face to keep it out of the way.

brush the remaining hair up into the a pony tail on the crown of your head-----but DO NOT tie it up!!!!!!!!!------ instead, holding the section, tilt your head forward and fasten place with clips and bobby pins, or alternately a Barret. continue to clip and pin until hair is fastened.
spray with hairspray.

release the top layer. now, you will need to divide it into 3 parts- the "poof", the side twirls, and the bangs--. begin by grouping to gather the amount of hair you would like in the "poof". tie this loosely with an elastic to ensure it is out of the way.

now, to take care of the longer bits of hair, twist them and fasten them with pins or clips at the back of the head.

the next step is creating the poof. to add the volume, gently tease the roots of the "poof" before styling. now that the hair has volume, pull back and push forward until the desired height is achieved. if necessary, re-tease the roots for extra volume. fasten the poof with clips and bobby pins, but ALWAYS hairspray it, and gently brush the hair into shape. this will stop stray hairs falling as well as keeping those annoying "baby fluff" hair off your face.

now, to achieve this chic look, leave down a few bangs, and straighten them.

this look is now complete, and you should avoid a headband or accessories, as the look is already quite busy.

happy styling (:

The "messy" bun

ahh... the messy bun, an instant classic, which Can be easily achieved.
this style is best suited to medium-long hair, and can be achieved on all types of hair- ringlets, loose curls, waves or straight-.

TO BEGIN:
you should de-tangle your hair with a product such as PANTENE LIGHT SPRAY LEAVE-IN CONDITIONER, or a similar product. avoid using a cream or gel, as a light spray simply adds definition and keeps the hair from looking greasy.

to begin styling, tie a loose ponytail at the crown (or just bellow) of your head. insure that it is LOOSE. now grab different sized strands of hair (tied in the ponytail) and begin wrapping around the base, in a loose, wispy fashion. try to wrap in different directions, to create a more messy look. fasten with bobby pins or another hair tie, depending on the thickness of your hair.

that creates a basic messy bun, but to complete the look, allow bangs to fall out and frame your face. if you have a fringe, create small crimps or loose curls to add a more messy style.

In the picture above, you may notice that the front of the hair is raised. yo create a risen look, use4 fingers (exclude the thumb) and spread wide, use them as a comb. comb from the base of the hair-tie towards the front of your face.this creates lift in the roots, and gives you instant glamour.

to create a more fashionable, styled look, add a co-ordinating thin headband, possibly with an embellishment, such as a bow or flower. this creates a more chic look and really completes the style. alternately, add a barrette or a fashionable clip, which has a similar, yet more subtle effect.

there are many alterations of the messy bun, so don't be afraid to experiment. try curling the bangs around the face, crimping the next day, and straightening the next day, they all create different looks.

happy bun-ing (:
